Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield Consent Form

• Please provide 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your dog’s appointment.

• For the safety of myself and your dog, Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield requires that you disclose when booking if your dog exhibits any difficult or aggressive behaviour. This is to protect against injury. I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog at risk of harming myself or itself. 

• Please make sure all dogs are well walked and given ample opportunity to toilet before coming to their pet grooming appointment. Additional fees will be incurred for defecating and urinating where this has obviously not happened.

• Please be punctual, if you are late arriving to your appointment, this may need to be re-booked for another date/time.

• All clients must fill out, sign and date a record card and agree to the disclaimer.

• No liability will be accepted by Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield when any health problem is uncovered or aggravated by any part of the grooming process. We will endeavour to notify you of anything we uncover during the grooming. Dashing Hounds is not responsible for any accidental death to your pet caused by a pre-existing health conditions such as heart failure, heart attacks, strokes, seizures or natural disasters whether or not you have disclosed them.

• No liability will be accepted by Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield in the case of an injury caused by difficult or aggressive behaviour of your dog.

• Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield do not agree with clipping some double coated dogs. If some double coated dogs are clipped, they are unable to regulate their body temperature, can cause damage to the undercoat and it’s shedding process leading to coat funk and lack of regrowth. If you are still willing for Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield to proceed with clipping your double coated dog, Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield will not except any liability.  

• Flea baths incur an additional cost as not only do the dogs have to sit in the flea shampoo for 10-15 minutes to kill fleas but we also have to fumigate the whole salon to prevent fleas from settling or spreading.

• Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield do not pluck ears, hairs are clipped shorter instead.

• Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield do not express anal glands.

• I agree to allow Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield to use my dogs name and images on social media. 

 

 

Matted Dogs 

De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. When a pet’s coat becomes matted and tangled beyond the ability to brush or comb through it sometimes the most humane thing to do is to shave off the matted hair.

Shaving may seem extreme but it is the fastest and least stressful way to groom a matted pet.

Matted coats can cause the following problems

• Skin irritation caused by dirt, dander and parasites trapped under the matted hair

• Sores and hair loss due to traction pulling on the skin – as matted hair gets tighter it eventually pulls out of the skin, causing sores and bald spots

• In severe cases, maggots can infest skin sores

• It is not uncommon to find pre-existing conditions such as hot spots, sores and other skin issues once the matted coat is removed

• There is a chance that your pets’ skin may become irritated from being clipped so close to the skin 

• Ear brushing due to excessive head shaking after removal of matted hair can occur

Because the procedure takes extreme care and extra time, there will be additional charges depending on the severity of the matting.

 

Pricing

Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield pricing guide are starting prices, are based on the following;

• That your dog is used to being professionally groomed on a regular schedule

• The dog’s coat is maintained between professional grooms (regular brushing to keep knot free)

You can expect to pay more if;

• Matted, poorly maintained and/or overgrown coats (dogs out of the 4-8 week breed schedules)

• Dogs which are difficult to manage or uncooperative during grooming

• Overweight pets or oversized for the breed standard

Timid, anxious or nervous dogs which require frequent breaks and may need special handling

 

I have read and understand the above, I hereby release Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield from responsibility. Any problems that may be uncovered or occur. I agree to pay all charges Should my dog require veterinary care during or after the procedure. I authorise Dashing Hounds, Upper Hartfield to provide necessary treatment for my pet and agree to pay any and all veterinary fees.
